Anthropic builds the Claude family of large language models, available through the Claude web and desktop apps and through a developer API (the Messages API). Claude is known for long context windows, tool use, and an emphasis on producing reliable, steerable output.

The company frames its work around building AI systems that are helpful, honest and predictable. Consumer plans raise usage limits and unlock the most capable models; API access is billed per token, with separate tiers for smaller, faster models and larger, more capable ones.
